Relaxed nicely done out place with a good bar but also food on a par with Artisan, Vivo, Broad Chare etc. With a child in our group we wanted to eat early-ish before it got too busy so booked for pm. I have had the lunch menu before and was very impressed so was looking forward to it. Sadly the menu was a big disappointment. It was their “all day menu” and contained for mains only an expensive steak, fish and chips, a burger, or a slightly more interesting bit of salmon on sauerkraut.

The sharing boards and starters were more appealing and on reflection I wish we’d just got a mix of those and skipped the mains entirely. The food itself was decent, the service was friendly and at a relaxed pace which I like but it wasn’t quite the NYE treat I had hoped for. Maybe PTMY know their market and this is what people want but I thought from my previous visit here and with David Kennedy at the helm they were aiming for something a bit better than pub grub.

Hi Geordieboy, thanks for the review. We’re sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your New Year’s Eve lunch with us, we pride ourselves on serving outstanding quality dishes that cater to a wide and varied audience. We’ve passed your feedback onto the kitchen team and do hope to see you again soon despite this. Stopped by for a quick lunch before getting my train. Lovely looking restaurant, nice ambience, good wine menu and excellent looking lunch menu for a reasonable price.

So what’s not to love?
